What's new in Nest.

A plain log of what changed between versions. No marketing copy, just the actual changes.

1.2.1 - Updated legal terms and offline legal documents

Released · Release date pending

  • Nest now presents EULA 1.3 for acceptance. The updated agreement preserves the perpetual individual 1.x license, clarifies consumer rights, and makes post-trial read-only access and export explicit.
  • English and Serbian Latin copies of the EULA, Privacy Policy, purchase information, complaints procedure, and withdrawal forms are available on the website and ship with Nest for offline reference.
  • Update-check privacy wording now explains that no document, library, license, or usage data is sent, while ordinary connection data is processed by the website host.

1.2.0 - Pin documents to the top

Released · 2026-07-22

  • Open a document's details and Pin it to keep it at the top of your library - like pinned folders in File Explorer or pinned mail in Outlook. Pinned documents stay on top no matter how you sort, and as you import more, until you unpin them. Pinning only changes the order and adds a small pin badge; it doesn't hide anything or affect search.

1.1.0 - Check for updates

Released · 2026-07-08

  • A new Check for updates item in the Help menu lets you see whether a newer version of Nest is available. It runs only when you ask - Nest never checks on its own - and when an update exists it points you to the download page, leaving the choice to download and install to you. The check sends no document, library, license, or usage data and fails quietly when you're offline. Like any website request, it exposes ordinary connection data such as IP address, user agent, request time, and requested resource to the host.
  • Still offline-first: Nest does not require internet access and does not connect to the internet automatically. Online actions happen only when you choose them.

1.0.3 - TIFF polish

Released · 2026-07-07

  • TIFF files now behave like the other image types throughout. They carry the same IMG badge in the list and details (they previously showed a generic file badge), are counted in the Library statistics, and their details pane treats them as images - showing the right "needs OCR" wording and no longer offering a text re-extraction that doesn't apply to a scan. The library health check now also accounts for TIFF thumbnails.

1.0.2 - Safer edits and built-in help

Released · 2026-07-01

  • Your ongoing edits are protected. If you've changed a document's details and haven't saved, Nest now asks before it would lose them: when you switch to another document, delete it, or close the window - with Save, Discard or Cancel. The document you're editing also stays visible in the list (marked Unsaved) even when a filter would otherwise hide it.
  • Built-in help. A Quick Start, User Guide, FAQ and Troubleshooting guide now ship with Nest and open from the Help menu. They work offline, like the rest of Nest.

1.0.1 - Markdown support

Released · 2026-06-30

  • Markdown files are now supported. Import .md and .markdown files into your library. Like your other documents, Nest reads their text so you can search the words inside them, and they appear with their own MD badge in the list. Open one to view it in your default Markdown app.

1.0.0 - first public release

Released · 2026-06-26

  • Import PDF, DOCX and TXT files, plus images (JPG, PNG, TIFF).
  • Add basic metadata: name, notes, tags, dates.
  • Browse your library by scope: all documents, review state, or your own collections.
  • Search across imported documents.
  • Open documents in your default viewer.
  • Local-only storage; no account required.
