What's new in Nest.
A plain log of what changed between versions. No marketing copy — just the actual changes.
1.1.0 — Check for updates
- A new Check for updates item in the Help menu lets you see whether a newer version of Nest is available. It runs only when you ask - Nest never checks on its own - and when an update exists it points you to the download page, leaving the choice to download and install to you. The check contacts only the Albedo One website, sends none of your documents or personal data, and fails quietly when you're offline.
- Still offline-first: Nest does not require internet access and does not connect to the internet automatically. Online actions happen only when you choose them.
1.0.3 — TIFF polish
- TIFF files now behave like the other image types throughout. They carry the same IMG badge in the list and details (they previously showed a generic file badge), are counted in the Library statistics, and their details pane treats them as images - showing the right "needs OCR" wording and no longer offering a text re-extraction that doesn't apply to a scan. The library health check now also accounts for TIFF thumbnails.
1.0.2 — Safer edits and built-in help
- Your ongoing edits are protected. If you've changed a document's details and haven't saved, Nest now asks before it would lose them: when you switch to another document, delete it, or close the window - with Save, Discard or Cancel. The document you're editing also stays visible in the list (marked Unsaved) even when a filter would otherwise hide it.
- Built-in help. A Quick Start, User Guide, FAQ and Troubleshooting guide now ship with Nest and open from the Help menu. They work offline, like the rest of Nest.
1.0.1 — Markdown support
- Markdown files are now supported. Import
.mdand.markdownfiles into your library. Like your other documents, Nest reads their text so you can search the words inside them, and they appear with their own MD badge in the list. Open one to view it in your default Markdown app.
1.0.0 — first public release
- Import PDF, DOCX and TXT files, plus images (JPG, PNG, TIFF).
- Add basic metadata: name, notes, tags, dates.
- Browse your library by scope: all documents, review state, or your own collections.
- Search across imported documents.
- Open documents in your default viewer.
- Local-only storage; no account required.
