Organize PDFs, receipts, and scans in one local library

Nest helps you keep common document types together, add useful details, and find them later without using a cloud document system.

The mixed-document problem

Important documents rarely arrive in one neat format.

Some are PDFs downloaded from a bank, portal, shop, accountant, or government service. Some are receipts. Some are scans or photos of paper documents. Some are reports, letters, invoices, contracts, or warranty papers.

Filenames vary wildly, and sorting by folders alone gets hard. Nest helps you keep these documents in one local Windows library so they are easier to describe, search, and open later.

One place to collect them

One local library for mixed documents.

Instead of relying only on folders and filenames, Nest lets you import supported documents into a local library and add useful details.

You can give a document a clear title, choose a category, add tags, set a date, and write notes. That makes the document easier to find later, even when the original filename is unclear.

Examples by document type

Common piles, brought together.

PDFs

Bank statements, invoices, contracts, reports, downloaded letters, and reference documents. Where text is available, Nest can index it so the document becomes easier to search.

Receipts

Purchases, warranties, repairs and services, and business expenses. Keep receipts together with related documents, add tags, dates, and notes, and search for them when you need proof of purchase or warranty information.

Scans

Letters, paper forms, older documents, and signed documents. For supported scanned PDFs and image files, Nest can run OCR to detect text and make it searchable. You can also add your own title, category, tags, date, and notes.

Search by what you remember

Find documents the way you actually recall them.

You may not remember the filename. You may remember a company name, a topic, a year, a category, a tag, or a short note you added yourself.

Nest is designed around that simple idea: organize documents once, then find them later in the way you naturally remember them. It searches extracted text where available, OCR text where supported, and the details you add yourself.

What Nest is not

Keep expectations practical.

Nest is not accounting software, tax software, cloud storage, or an enterprise document management system. It helps organize and find documents — it does not automatically understand every document.

It is a small local document organizer for people who want a practical way to manage common documents on their own Windows computer.
